Privacy policy

The short version: this website doesn't track you. We don't use cookies, analytics or ad trackers. If you send us a message, we use it only to reply and to work with you, and we never sell it.
Who we are
New York Optimized ("we", "us") designs and builds custom software and websites for businesses. We're based in Rochester, New York. This policy covers newyorkoptimized.com and its pages. It doesn't cover software we build for clients, which follows that client's own policies, or private demos, which are covered below.
What we collect
- What you send us. When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and anything else you choose to include: company, phone number and your message.
- Basic technical data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request information such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use this to identify you or build a profile.
We don't collect payment information, government ID numbers or account passwords on this site.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or social media trackers. The interactive examples on the home page run entirely in your browser with made-up data; nothing you click or type in them is sent to us. Because nothing is tracked, there's nothing to opt out of and no cookie banner.
How we use your information
- To reply to your message and discuss a possible project.
- To provide services you've hired us for, under a separate written agreement.
- To keep the site secure and working.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the site and our email, and only as needed for those services:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website.
- Resend, which delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
- Google, which provides our business email.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
Private demos
If we give you access to a private demo, you sign in with your email address and a one-time code sent by Cloudflare Access. We see which email addresses signed in and when. Demos contain only made-up sample data; please don't enter real customer or personal information into a demo.
How long we keep it
We keep messages for as long as needed to respond and for any resulting project, plus a reasonable period for our records, typically no more than three years after our last contact. Ask us anytime to delete what you've sent.
How we protect it
The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to our email and systems is limited to people who need it and protected by strong passwords and two-step sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affected your information we would notify you as required by New York law.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information you've sent us, wherever you live. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for asking.
Children
This site is for businesses and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted here.
